In the coming days, Sekai, the first digital marketplace for organic products will be officially launched in Spain. This digital space specializing in the marketing of organic products will target professionals, SMEs and large companies from all over the world, with a particular focus on Spanish companies.
Sekai targets both physical businesses without an online store and businesses already in e-commerce and interested in increasing their sales ratios. It offers its suppliers the creation of their online store in a few clicks, access to a larger audience to sell their products, and even the possibility of cross-selling between different brands.
The company will select 50 beta companies that will be able to enjoy all the benefits of this marketplace free of charge for 12 months.
A booming sector
The organic products business line continues to grow. According to the “Analysis of the characterization and projection of Spanish organic production in 2019”, published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the per capita consumption of organic products in 2019 has increased 7.7% compared to the previous year and amounted to 50.2 euros. per person per year.
The organic sector already accounts for 2.2% of total food consumption in Spain and expenditure for this type of food has increased by 8.4%, reaching 2,363 million euros.
This is a great starting point for Sekai to further stimulate sales of organic products among Spanish users, thus providing an additional marketing channel for businesses and professionals.
