Langridge Organic Products has updated its fleet with seven new Isuzu N75.190 refrigerated trucks equipped with Easyshift automated gearboxes.

Operating from the company’s headquarters in Feltham, Middlesex, two of the new Isuzu trucks are specified with all-new temperature-controlled bodies from local firm TLC Bodies, while the remaining five new Isuzu 7.5t chassis have had refurbished and exchanged existing Paneltex refrigerated bodies from the Isuzus they replace.

“This latest truck fleet contract is our third Isuzu-branded replacement vehicle program and the vehicles will be part of our fleet for another five years. Quite simply, we find that Isuzus are very similar to our products in that that they have all the good stuff we need and nothing bad, ticking our box for payload, compact footprint and proven reliability,” said Alex Pearce, MD, Langridge Biologics.

“When we first started specifying Isuzus in the fleet, it was the payload that really attracted us to the brand, easily far better than any other manufacturer at 7.5 tons GVW. As we deliver regularly in the M25 conurbation, the compact footprint of the Isuzu chassis was also a big factor which, combined with the Easyshift automated gearbox, made the trucks very easy to drive in built-up urban areas.

The order was supplied by local dealer Cordwallis Commercials at Heathrow and is supported by a full repair and maintenance package via Isuzu Truck (UK).

The vehicles are expected to travel around 40,000km a year, delivering a range of organic fruit and vegetables to wholesalers, restaurants, food manufacturing sites and schools in the Midlands, East Anglia and southern England.
